Most Russian women look very beautiful. This is because they strive to look their best to please the man in their lives. But, looking good is not the only part of a woman’s value system in this part of the world. Her first concern is to be a loving wife, a good mother and a respected member of Russian society.

In Russia, there are more single women than men. Therefore, a single woman will strive to look her best in order to get the attention of a man. Women know that getting a good man is difficult, but they also know that keeping him is just as difficult. As such, a woman will endeavor to look her best even after she is married.

Women will rarely leave their homes without make-up, smart clothes and an attractive hair style. Most are slim because they eat very small portions of food. They usually have well-toned bodies and are very fit. Much of this is due to the fact that they walk a lot because the majority of Russian women do not drive.

Whenever possible, women like to grow their own vegetables and make their own clothes. This is even more important if the couple is on a tight budget. Such a situation will be accepted gracefully. If necessary, a Russian wife is quite happy to be her own stylist, designer, dietician, make-up artist and personal trainer.

Family is of paramount importance. For a woman to have social status, she must be married and have children. This supersedes the importance of a career. A woman is looked down upon if she has never been married. Therefore, a woman can only be defined as successful if she conforms to these requirements.

Because of this, women put their primary focus on finding a marriage partner. While they are unafraid of hard work, they will try to find a man that has some wealth. This will give her the knowledge that her husband will be able to provide for her while she is busy rearing his children. With this in mind, many Russian women seek men who are older and well established.

There is another reason why women put such a heavy emphasis on family instead of a career. This lies in the fact that, on the career front, there is still a lot of discrimination towards women. No matter how qualified or capable they are, men are still given preference. Even the commercial sector expects wives to put husbands and family first.

A Russian wife will rather help her husband to build his career and forgo her wants and needs. For example, if the couple only has enough money to pay for one person to study, the wife will gladly let her man take the opportunity to further his qualifications. However, if the family needs a second income, she will be quite happy to work.

From the information in this article, it might appear that women think they are subservient to men. This is not the case. Russian women do not take kindly to being given orders. To them, marriage is a joint partnership and they expect respect and appreciation. It is a unification of two equal people.
